We wish you a very Merry Christmas!!

We are excited and looking forward to the new year - the Junque Gypsies have 6 projects in the works (our first show will be in May).  We will also have lots of new things going on in our blog; more pictures, recipes and tutorials.   Happy New Year!

The Junque Gypsies 9-hour Dinner!!!

We decided to do a traveling Christmas get-together, with each of us serving part of the meal.  We started at Rhonda's house, just after 1:00 in the afternoon, for appetizers.  We were immediately greeted by Dolly, in her little red dress.

Rhonda served us with a Teriyaki Shrimp, wrapped in bacon, a Pear and Pomegranate & Fetta Cheese Salad, Cheese and Crackers and Hard Cider with Frozen Raspberries.  (Rhonda is an excellent chef).  Rhonda's house was filled with surprises every where you look, from things she has picked up and re-purposed, or something she has painted.

Our early evening began so wonderfully, after we would proceed to Lucy's for soup, Barb's for our main dish, and finish the evening at Erin's with dessert - we never dreamed we would go until late in the evening.  We enjoyed every moment, talking about the year we have had, our upcoming projects and all the things we want to work on.

Rhonda started out our gift giving with a CD of beautiful, hand picked music.  She also gave each one of us a magnet, that reminded us of the special friendship we have formed, also an adorable snowman that lights up.

Lucy's house could make anyone smile.  Your eyes are never bored, and her Christmas tree did not disappoint.  Lucy's tree was adorned with all kinds of elves, birds, feathers baubles and beads...and so much more.  There were even bigger elves peeking out from all over.

We were served a creamy (and oh so delicious) Cheese & Brocoli Soup and cheese and crackers; oh and red wine.
Lucy gifted us with a beautiful soap dish, and a holiday scented soap bar to go along with it, also a sparkly embellished wine glass.

Barb served us our main course; we were greeted with a glass of wine and a fun questionnaire.  As the last of the dinner was cooking- we discovered new things about each other, that made us smile, laugh and really deepen our friendship:

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
If you could change your first name, what would you change it to?
(we had, Angelina, Ann, Madeline, Philomena, Plum and Maggie)
What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Dinner was Alaskan imported Salmon ( Barb has a connection), Rice Pilaf, Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Spinach, Fresh Grapes and White Wine......sooooooooo good!!!!

Barb surprised us with beautiful cuff bracelets that she made, adorned with vintage jewels.  She also gave us the book:  Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral ( we all can't wait to get started on it!)
Our evening ended at Erin's for dessert.  We were greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and a buffet full of delicious goodies.  We chose from Lemon Fluff Pie, Pumpkin Bread, PB-n- Chocolate Blast Cookies and Chocolate cupcakes.

For our gift, Erin had made us waterless snow globes.
We departed each other's company just after 10:30pm

The chair

super fun:)

The history of the chair dates way, way back.
It was known as a status symbol in the early days and not for ordinary use until the 16th Century.

Today there are all kinds of chairs: rocking chairs, dining room chairs, folding chairs, highchairs, stools, benches – but the best chair of all is the kind that you can sit quietly in, with just your thoughts, spirit and soul and just…be.

An Original Gypsy - Magnolia Pearl

Hi beautiful women,
If it was over ( life as we know it, that is ) would we be satisfied that we "lived" life, really "lived" life? Sometimes I tell myself "this is it", today is all that is left! Do I need to mend some fences? Do I need to tell someone that I love them or say I'm sorry? As I approach 46 ( next month), I know I need to live less afraid, love less afraid, and go for it! What am I saving life for? You know how you save your "good" pair of shoes for church? When it's all said and done, those shoes sit perfectly in their box without a scratch. Well, not me! I want to use this body, soul, and spirit until it's tattered to perfection like an old piece of Victorian velvet. I'm on my way to put more laugh lines around my eyes while I love, live, laugh, give, cry, listen, and embrace fearlessly!
Love to all of you,
Pearl

(this was posted on her blog a few years back - it is just perfect!!)

Traveling Outing

The four of us went on our first adventure together.  We drove to Denver and for 2 days, we laughed, we ate and we shopped ...oh, and I think some wine was involved.    We ventured to the Paris Street Market in Littleton and made some exciting purchases, and got lots of ideas (Barb was our photographer - so we do have pictures and will post them shortly).

Don't forget to come see us this Saturday (October 8th) in Sterling at the Frenchman Creek Market!!
